AirStash+ 1.3 with photo and backup available

The latest update to our AirStash+ app is now available. AirStash+ 1.3 adds the ability to export photos and videos from the Camera Roll on your iOS device directly to the AirStash. It’s a great way to back up the pictures you’ve shot and video you’ve recorded on the go and share with multiple people.

This version of the app also enhances the file management functionality of the AirStash+ app. Enhanced sorting options make it easy to find the files you want and You can now delete files on the go: simply swipe on any file to reveal the delete button.

AirStash+ 1.3 also includes the latest firmware update for the second-generation AirStash (model A02). With this firmware update, you can now create and delete directories from within the AirStash+ app. Files created wirelessly now have date and time information set; to ensure that correct date and time is available, run the AirStash+ app once after connecting to your AirStash before using any WebDAV clients. This firmware update also addresses compatibility with some WebDAV applications, including ReaddleDocs, PDFExpert, and Air Sharing, and provides better compatibility with HTML documents that refer to other files via relative URLs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We are aware of a crash when running this version of AirStash+ on iOS 4. If you have not or are unable to update your iOS device to iOS 5, do not apply this update. We are submitting a fix to the App Store for this issue.

A software update (version 1.1.7) is available for the AirStash A02. This update adds the ability to change the WiFi channel to resolve wireless interference issues. The latest version of our AirStash+ app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch is now rolling out to the App Store. In addition to fixing a number of minor bugs, we have greatly improved the photo viewer and photo import feature:

Images now display faster when swiping through the list of photos
Camera RAW formats are now supported for view and import (exact format support depends on your device)
The photo viewer now launches much faster in directories containing thousands of photos

AirStash 1.0.2 supports 64GB+ cards and latest version of iWork

AirStash software version 1.0.2 is now available. This release features updates to the compatibility and functionality of AirStash and is recommended for all users. AirStash is now compatible with 64GB and larger SD cards provided that they have been formatted for use with AirStash. Now you can carry even more of your media for use with all your devices without having to change cards.

This release also addresses a compatibility issue with version 1.4 of Apple’s iWork apps for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch (Keynote, Pages and Numbers). Apple’s latest version of iWork now works with iPhone and iPod touch in addition to iPad. With the latest version of the AirStash software, you can now view, save, share, and backup your iWork documents to one convenient place from all of your Apple devices.

The AirStash+ app for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad is now available on the App Store! AirStash+ is a native app that provides all of the functionality of the AirStash web app, plus photo import functionality and easier connectivity to the AirStash.

AirStash+ lets you import photos from an SD/SDHC card to your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad in full resolution or at a reduced resolution for on-screen viewing. Swipe through your photos to preview them without importing them, then import just a single photo or an entire directory at once. You can also delete photos from your card after importing them so you can free up space for even more photos.

AirStash+ also supports all the other features of the AirStash, including audio and video streaming and document viewing, and enhances these features with functionality only possible in a native app.

WebDAV update is now available!

The AirStash WebDAV software update is now available! Version 1.0.1 of the AirStash software adds support for the WebDAV protocol, which makes AirStash the easiest way to transfer documents to and from your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. Using compatible applications such as Pages, Keynote, Numbers, OmniGraffle, and GoodReader, you can transfer documents to and from AirStash to share with PC or Mac users via USB, or share your documents with other iPad users wirelessly. With the WebDAV software update, it’s now possible to use the iPad as a mobile productivity tool and leave the laptop at home.

This AirStash software update also significantly improves media playback. Higher quality files are now playable, and it’s now possible to stream video to multiple devices at the same time.

The update is available immediately on our software update page. Update instructions and a video tutorial on downloading the new software and updating the AirStash are provided.

WebDAV update public beta available!

A public beta of the WebDAV firmware update for AirStash is now available! This update adds support for reading and writing iWork documents on the AirStash through the WebDAV protocol. It also improves compatibility and speed of media streaming, including support for streaming video to multiple devices.

We encourage customers who wish to use WebDAV with iWork or have had issues with media compatibility to try this version. If you encounter issues with this beta, it is possible to revert to the last release of the AirStash software.

WebDAV update and photo import app coming soon!

At CES 2011 we announced and demonstrated two upcoming AirStash features: WebDAV support for reading and writing files to compatible apps and an app for iPhone and iPad devices to import multiple photos at once. Both of these features are in beta testing and are on track for a release during the month of February.

The WebDAV firmware update allows compatible apps such as Apple’s iWork suite for the iPad to read and write documents from the AirStash. With WebDAV, files on the AirStash can also be transferred to and from a PC or Mac using the free program Cyberduck.

With this firmware update, we’ve also increased compatibility with different video formats as well. Videos which are optimized for streaming are still recommended for best performance and quickest load times. To find out how to convert your videos for viewing on AirStash, read the instructions in our knowledge base.

Our iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad app allows batch import of photos from a SD card at either full size or in a reduced resolution for on-screen viewing. You can also easily browse and import photos one by one. This app will be available in the App Store during February pending Apple’s approval.

Because we can’t guarantee that inclement weather or other carrier delays won’t affect the transit time of your shipment, we recommend placing your order by Thursday, December 16th if possible.

An AirStash software update is available! See our support site for release notes and update instructions. You can watch a demonstration video which explains the update process.

This release improves the performance of buffering media and loading pictures over WiFi, and of reading and writing files from the AirStash via USB. Streaming videos larger than 2GB (such as the iTunes version of Avatar) has been fixed. The AirStash web application has received a new icon, new toolbars, and more.

An AirStash software update will be released soon! This release includes performance improvements and updates to the AirStash web application. Major changes in this release include:

Improved performance when buffering media or loading pictures
Improved performance when reading or writing files to the AirStash via USB
A new shortcut icon for the app by designer Ian Meyer, shown above in Retina Display resolution
New toolbar icons, a new app background for iPad users, and more!
